Darkness.

Sometime in the middle of the night
I lay motionless in darkness.
In brightness of day,
It's hard to imagine this moment existed.
Yet even in the midst of the noisy day,
It reappears hauntingly,
As a tiny falling leaf softly floating to the ground of leaves.
I pull within trying to surround it in my arms,
But i'm left running on groundless sky.
Suddenly my name is abruptly called,
Lightening scrawling across a blackened sky.
I tumble back towards earth,
As if it were all just a dream.
